Pizza with Fly By Nighters

For a couple of ‘fly by nighters’ celebrating ten vintages is an achievement worth celebrating for Two Hands Wines.  And I’m sure they will still be here in Barossa for the next few decades as well.

Two Hands Cellar Door

Always a favourite with US Wine Spectator magazine and various other US wine critics, Two Hands Wines are a great way to see regional influences from this boutique Shiraz specialist.  Being a negociant they can source fruit from a wide range of regions.  Not just in Barossa Valley but all around South Australia, and also Heathcote (in Victoria).

Tasting Deck at Two Hands Wines

As part of their continued growth they recently opened a new tasting deck which overlooks the lawns, vineyards and winery.  This is an ideal location on a sunny day to sit, relax and soak in the Barossa vibe.  Equally bucolic are the Two Hands woodfired pizzas which are available for lunch on Wednesday to Friday.

Two Hands Pizza

Simple exceptional produce, both local and international, combine to make an ideal light lunch.  With typical Two Hands approach to naming products, the ‘Well Hung Pig’ pizza with Jamón ibérico, Chèvre (goat cheese) and rocket, was perfect with a few glasses of Twelftree Grenache Rose.

Two Hands Wines owner, Michael Twelftree, also has his own label Twelftree Wines which are available at the Two Hands cellar door in Barossa.  I’m sure both Two Hands Wines and Twelftree will continue to show the regions and single vineyards for many decades to come.
