Barossa Valley Shiraz fruit, with a good dollop of Mataro 10% blended in. Jam packed with ripe dark fruits like plum and blackberries, and a hint of bitter chocolate. The nose reminds me of panforte – fruit, chocolate and lots of spices.
On the palate, the Dust Kicker Shiraz has ripe plum and blackberry again, and the sweet spices continue through. The finish has more savoury characters like roasted meats, and wet earth/forest floor (if you’ve ever eaten wet earth). The oak is noticeable, but not overbearing, and lingers through the finish. Well structured and generous – what else would you expect from Barossa and Schwarz Wine Co.
